Join the Bay Area Pragmatic Dharma Sangha for a weekly exploration of meditation and its intersection with psychology, guided by the insightful Tucker Peck. This group is dedicated to a flexible approach to meditation, embracing a variety of techniques without allegiance to any single method. Members often draw from contemporary meditation resources such as The Mind Illuminated, Right Concentration, Seeing That Frees, and Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha.
Tucker Peck is currently leading a series that provides a comprehensive overview of different meditation techniques and their underlying theories. Each session is designed to deepen participants’ understanding and practice of meditation.
The San Francisco Pragmatic Dharma Club follows what is affectionately termed the “Five Acts Plus a Finale” format:
- Introductions: Members begin by introducing themselves.
- Guided Meditation: A 40-minute guided meditation session leads participants into deeper mindfulness.
- Break-Out Groups: Attendees are divided into small groups of 3-4 to foster connections and discussion.
- Group Q&A: The evening concludes with a group Q&A session with Tucker Peck.
- Social Gathering: After the formal session ends at 9 PM, attendees are invited to continue the conversation over a late dinner at a nearby Mexican restaurant.
This group operates in a hybrid format, welcoming both in-person and Zoom participants. For those joining via Zoom, we ask that you remain present for the full 90 minutes and, if possible, keep your camera on to mirror the experience of in-person attendees.
Dr. Tucker Peck, a clinical psychologist and experienced dharma teacher, brings a wealth of knowledge to his teachings, offering a profound and engaging exploration of meditation and psychological integration.
