SUMMARY:Fall Foraging Plant Walk Series
DESCRIPTION:The Fall Foraging Plant Walk Series invites nature enthusiasts 
 to embrace the beauty of autumn while learning about the rich abundance of
  local flora. This program is designed to help participants deepen their c
 onnection to the natural world by moving beyond the typical "sea of green"
  and recognizing each plant by its name. Organizers aim to equip attendees
  with the skills to forage for bioregional edibles and medicinal plants fo
 und in the Bay Area.\n\nEach class in the series\, taking place in various
  locations throughout the East Bay\, offers a hands-on learning experience
 . Participants will explore topics such as:\n\n 	Identifying common wild e
 dibles and medicinal plants\, along with their uses.\n 	Utilizing plant gu
 idebooks for cross-referencing.\n 	Practicing ethical harvesting methods.\
 n 	Cultivating reciprocal relationships with the land.\n\nThe series consi
 sts of three classes\, each focusing on different subjects:\n\n 	October 1
 2: Flower and leaf botany.\n 	November 9: Identifying important poisonous 
 and invasive plants.\n 	December 14: Understanding the land’s history th
 rough a decolonial lens.\n\nParticipants can choose to attend one class or
  the entire series\, with essential information covered in each session. H
 owever\, completing the full series is encouraged to reinforce learning an
 d adapt to the seasonal changes in plant life. Each class will conclude wi
 th a guided meditation and somatic practice\, fostering a deeper connectio
 n to the land.\n\nCosts range from $30 to $50 per class\, or $80 to $100 f
 or all three classes\, with scholarships available for QT+ BIPOC and disab
 led individuals upon request.\n\nAccessibility information includes:\n\n 	
 Walks covering 1-2 miles each session.\n 	Events are held rain or shine\, 
 with postponements only in the event of severe storms.\n 	Carpools can be 
 arranged for those needing transportation.\n 	Attendees are encouraged to 
 communicate any specific access needs to ensure accommodations are met.\n\
