SUMMARY:Rewilding the Mind: Technology for Beloved Community
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nAs our relationship with technology deepens\, more of
our lives are shaped and mediated by digital tools\, which brings both op
portunities and challenges to our social\, emotional\, cognitive\, and spi
ritual well-being. Many people today feel a sense of "soul loss\," experie
ncing disconnection from themselves and others due to the constant distrac
tions of technology\, social comparison\, and isolation. This disconnectio
n manifests as a feeling of living life as an object—passively reacting
to external events—rather than as an active participant in shaping one's
experience.\n\nRewilding the mind through conscious awareness is a powerf
ul tool to counteract this modern disconnection. By cultivating practices
that encourage individuals to observe their own experiences as a witness\,
they can begin to shift from feeling like life is happening to them to be
coming an active subject within their own lives. This transformation leads
to greater personal empowerment\, inner connection\, and true relational
engagement.\n\nDr. Sará King and Dr. Eve Ekman\, two renowned contemplati
ve scientists\, are collaborating to explore how human emotion and awarene
ss intersect with technology. They combine cutting-edge research with embo
died practices\, offering a space for transformative growth. Through story
 telling\, relational exercises\, and contemplative techniques\, they aim t
o help individuals map and transform their relationship with technology. T
heir work seeks to reveal the liberating potential of digital tools for en
hancing embodied awareness\, fostering community\, and promoting social ju
 stice.\n\nEve Ekman\, PhD\, MSW\, is a contemplative social scientist spec
ializing in emotional awareness\, empathy\, and interventions that combat
burnout. She combines her background in clinical social work\, integrative
medicine\, and contemplative science to promote well-being. A former well
-being lead at Apple and a senior fellow at UC Berkeley's Greater Good Sci
ence Center\, Eve's work is rooted in interdisciplinary research and exper
iential practices. Learn more about her work at Cultivating Emotional Bala
 nce.\n\nSará King\, MA\, PhD\, is a neuroscientist\, artist\, political a
nd learning scientist\, and meditation teacher. Her work focuses on healin
g intergenerational trauma through accessible contemplative practices that
merge art\, music\, and meditation. She is the CEO and founder of MindHea
rt AI\, an innovative startup that uses neuroscience and AI to map human a
wareness and promote collective well-being. Currently a post-doctoral fell
ow at UC San Diego\, Sará is dedicated to exploring the intersections of
empathy\, compassion\, and social justice. Learn more about her work at Mi
ndHeart AI.\n\nTogether\, Eve and Sará offer a space for profound transfo
rmation—helping individuals rethink their relationship with technology a
nd harness its potential for personal growth and the cultivation of a belo
ved community. Through their workshops and exercises\, participants can ex
plore how technology\, rather than distancing us from one another\, can be
a tool for deepening connection\, promoting healing\, and advancing socia
 l justice.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n4o\n\nGET TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n
